This 17th century Hotel is situated in the heart of the beautiful and historic town of Wotton-under-Edge. Next to a free public car park and only 10 minutes from the M5, stay with them and enjoy any of our open group walks. Located a short stroll from the meeting point for our `pavement only` half day walk The Wonders of Wotton-Under-Edge, your choice doesn’t have to stop there, as all of our walk meeting points are within a few minutes drive away.
If you do not have your own transport, The Swan can also offer guests transfers to the meeting point for all of our guided walk options. Please give them as much notice as possible to book a transfer.
The Swan has recently refurbished elements throughout the hotel including the restaurant, lounge and bar area. There are currently 11 traditional bedrooms, all with ensuite facilities. They offer all of their guests access to free WiFi and are proud to be listed as a dog friendly hotel.
The picturesque Ashen Plains Campsite is situated within easy walking distance of the starting point for Dursley Woods, Waterley Bottom and the Great Brews of Gloucestershire. This walk can also be easily adapted to actually start from the campsite for groups of 6 or more.
Throughout the summer holidays we also run 2 hour woodland nature walks from the campsite. Starting at 09.30 every Tues and Thurs morning from Tues 25th July through to Thurs 31st Aug. Please email us to book a nature walk. All other starting points for all our other walks are also within easy driving distance.
Nestled in the heart of Wotton-Under-Edge, Chipping House (a beautiful Georgian house) is a great place for groups to stay. Sleeping up to 14, they are also extending to offer accommodation for groups up to 16 people.

Cotswold Edge Golf Club are a stone’s throw from the meeting point for our Westridge Woods and the Tyndale Monument walk, and a short drive from Uley and Dursley.
